Lupus Anticoagulant Profile Technical Interpretation

Testing Algorithm Delineates situations when tests are added to the initial order. This includes reflex and additional tests.

If the prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time, and dilute Russell viper venom time are normal, a computer-generated interpretive comment indicating no evidence of a lupus anticoagulant will be provided.

 

If any test results in the profile are abnormal, all results will be reviewed by a coagulation consultant and a Lupus Anticoagulant Profile Interpretation (ALUPO) will be provided.

Patient Preparation: Patient should not be receiving warfarin or heparin. If the patient is currently on warfarin or heparin, this should be noted.
