Inorganic (AsIII, AsV), organic (arsenobetaine, arsenocholine), and methylated (monomethylarsonic acid, dimethylarsinic acid) arsenic species in urine are separated using ion chromatography (IC) and quantitated by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in kinetic energy discrimination sensitive (KEDS) mode using an internal standard and a mobile phase matrix calibration.(Nixon DE, Moyer TP: Routine clinical determination of lead, arsenic, cadmium, and thallium in urine and whole blood by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.
